Candle Wax Feature - Palm Wax

Welcome to our first post  in a series of posts about the different candle waxes available.

What is your favourite candle wax? Unsure? Let us help you weigh up the pros and cons of four different waxes so you can decide which wax is right for you!

Today we will be looking at Palm Wax.

Palm wax is made from palm oil, and as you may have heard, palm oil has got a really bad rap in recent times as heaps of forests have been cleared to make way for palm plantations, as the world demands more and more palm oil for so many different varieties of products found in every kitchen bathroom and laundry. With the destruction of the forests comes the destruction of the habitat of endangered orangutans. Palm oil is very sought after for a wide variety of products as it very versatile.

Greedy profit-driven investors have been bad news for the environment, but fortunately, now there is certified sustainable palm oil out there now. That's what we use for our palm candles. That means our palm wax candles are made from palm oil sourced from only sustainable regenerated palm plantations.

We love to use palm wax as a candle wax, it's so beautiful and has many benefits.

Here's why we like so much:
Palm oil is not genetically modified, is carcinogen-free and is far easier to liberate into a waxy substance than soy or coconut. Palm Oil Wax candles have a low melting point and usually are in containers unless they are specially crystalised and can therefore be formed into a pillar candle.  Palm oil wax is produced like most essential oils: the fruit berries are pressed for oil, which is then distilled. All the Palm oil and waxes used by our ranges comes from Sustainable Regenerated Forests and have been Certified by the world authorities, meaning our palm wax is eco friendly.

Why use palm wax candles:
Palm Wax Candles hold and distribute fragrance better than other waxes.
Crystallised Palm Wax Pillar Candles have unparalleled natural beauty, made even more beatiful by the burning process, as a thin crystallised shell is left as the candle burns down.
Palm Candles made from palm oil sources from sustainable regenerated plantations are eco friendly.
